May 9th is Victory Day here in Ukraine. It's when Ukrainians celebrate the end of The Great Patriotic War (a.k.a. WWII), but it's also a celebration for all Veterans. Tom and I visited the war memorials, along with everyone else in Kyiv. It was really amazing to see elderly men and women in their military attire, decked out in their medals. People continue to present the men and women with flowers and thank them.
